CZ takes off China Perth direct

first_imgAiming to build passenger count between China and Perth, China Southern Airlines has launched the first-ever direct flight between the two regions.With the first commercial, direct service touching down in Perth International Airport earlier this morning, Perth Tourism Minister Kim Hames said the new service was part of the a 2020 initiative to increase visitors from China into Perth from 15,000 to 100,000.The Tourism head explained the new eight hour service would enable the city to achieve its tourism goals as well as strengthen business and trade links with China. “This is a milestone event for WA’s visitor economy and for the first time gives us direct access to the world’s biggest tourism market,” Dr Hames said.“To raise awareness of WA in China, Tourism WA has been working closely with China Southern Airlines and Tourism Australia to develop a $2.5million marketing campaign, which started in September.“Chinese tourists enjoy natural beauty and nature-based experiences and this State has them in abundance.”Earlier this month the Guangzhou based carrier welcomed China’s first A380 into its fleet.
