Tata Nano Twist XT Xtreme Edition with Power Steering Debuts in India

Tata Motors on Monday introduced a new variant of Nano – Nano Twist XT (Xtreme Edition) – in India, with a price tag of ₹2.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company, which is looking to boost the market of its ‘world’s cheapest car’ Nano launched its new model Twist XT, with power steering. On the mechanical front, the Twist maintains the same 624 cc two-cylinder MPFI engine of Nano, which can churn out a power of 37.4 bhp at 5500 rpm and a maximum torque of 51 Nm at 4000 rpm.The power steering of Nano Twist is developed by ZF and the variant will be available in six colours: damson purple, dazzle blue, papaya orange, pearl white, meteor silver and royal gold. Nano Twist XT also comes with Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) which uses brushless motor.”The Nano Twist will redefine customer’s driving experience in city traffic with the EPAS. It comes loaded with trendy features, exciting new colours and sporty interiors, said Ranjit Yadav, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, at the launch.Tata appears to be trying hard to make the Nano India’s new favourite car, with a strategic repositioning of the vehicle. Nano, which was launched as the ‘common man’s car’ has failed to do so well in the country so far.Though the company had tried to capture the market with a facelifted version of the Nano earlier, the effort did not yield the anticipated results. Now with the Nano Twist, Tata seems to be readying another battle. Besides Twist, Tata is also speculated to launch the diesel variant and Tata Nano Plus.
