first_imgSign up for our COVID-19 newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest coronavirus news throughout New York A 48-year-old woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver while walking along a street in her hometown of Wyandanch on Monday night, Suffolk County police said.Raina Campbell was walking on East Booker Avenue when she was stuck by a westbound vehicle that fled the scene at 6:56 p.m., police said.The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where she was pronounced dead.The vehicle fled toward Straight Path and may have front end damage. No further description of the vehicle or its driver was immediately available.Vehicular Crime Unit detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone who may have witnessed this crash or has any information about the incident to call them at 631-852-6555 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
