first_imgJob Description:Position SummaryThe University Advancement division of Fairfield University isseeking an experienced Director of Annual Giving to providestrategic leadership to its comprehensive annual giving program.Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Development, andplaying a collaborative role within the Advancement division, theDirector will develop a plan of innovative solutions for reachingambitious revenue and donor goals. This role will manage a staff ofseven, including six fundraising and program positions, and oneadministrative coordinator.The Director will lead a multifaceted program that includes mailand email solicitations, annual giving day, volunteer fundraising(reunion and class ambassadors), senior class gift, studentcallers, leadership gift societies, stewardship, and other(including new and emerging) methods. The annual giving programalso includes personal solicitations and major gift pipelineidentification conducted by frontline fundraising staff. Leading byexample, the director will manage a small portfolio of leadershipannual giving prospects.The Director will work with and be supported by the Marketingdivision in the implementation of the annual fundraising plan. TheDirector will also work closely and collaboratively with theAthletic and Parent fundraising programs and the Office of AlumniRelations within the Advancement division to maximize results forthe University.The Director will use sophisticated data analytics and bestpractices to produce results and meet goals. Staff positions : If youneed to upload more than 5 documents, please either combine them toupload or email them to [email protected] Bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of 6 years of experience inannual giving and/or development programs, with three years ofexperience leading a comprehensive annual giving program and itsstaff, with demonstrated success achieving and exceedinggoals;Experience in higher education preferred;Demonstrated ability to build successful annual givinginitiatives and appeals using current best-practices, newtechnologies and drive towards numerical goals and produceoutstanding results;Excellent oral and written communication skills, withexperience writing persuasive appeals;Strong understanding of current digital communicationsstrategies to include social media, fundraising software, andemail-based solicitations.Outstanding analytical skills and proven success in leveragingsophisticated analytics, predictive modeling and other metrics todevelop programs and drive results;Proven success in personally raising annual gifts through faceto face solicitations;Demonstrated ability to hire, train, supervise, and motivatehigh-achieving staff and volunteers;Expertise using Raiser’s Edge required;Ability to work collaboratively with diverseconstituencies;A commitment to high personal performance and teamwork;Extraordinary attention to detail and ability to managemultiple competing priorities with minimal oversight.An appreciation for the Fairfield University and Jesuitmissions. Create a strategic and comprehensive annual plan and overseeits implementation using innovative solutions and sophisticateddata analyses to increase dollars raised, acquire and retaindonors, and increase alumni participation;Work strategically and collaboratively with and be supported bythe Marketing division to design and implement annual givingappeals and communications for the University’s various constituentaudiences, and create and implement Stagiving Day, Fairfield’sannual day of giving;Manage staff by providing structure and training, and utilizingprofessional development resources, accountability skilldevelopment and performance assessment tools to ensure staffmembers are maximizing results;Evaluate program results, and guide subsequent programstrategies, through the use of data-driven analysis. Identify andimplement needed reports and program “dashboards” essential tomonitoring program effectiveness;Achieve goals by monitoring progress towards annual SMART goalsfor department and staff. Primary department goals include annualgiving revenue, alumni participation, donor acquisition, retentionand upgrade rates, and qualification of major gift prospects.Manage department operating budget, efficiently using programresources and maximizing program results in a complex Universityenvironment;Collaborate with Advancement and campus partners andvendors.Perform other related duties as assigned or requested Qualifications:last_img
