Wilder hails ‘fantastic’ signing as Sheffield United make fifth addition

first_imgKean Bryan has become Sheffield United’s fifth summer signing, arriving on a free transfer from Manchester City. The Premier League champions, though, have a sell-on clause on any future transfer fee.Bryan, who had been linked with Rangers put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at Bramall Lane ahead of United’s first game of the EFL season against Swansea City.Comfortable in defence or midfield, the England youth international offers versatility and enjoyed his first taste of senior football with Bury during the 2016/17 campaign. Last term, the 21-year-old furthered his development away from the Etihad Stadium, making 32 appearances in League One with Oldham Athletic, scoring twice, with his form enough to see him win the club’s Young Player of the Year award.United manager, Chris Wilder, told sufc.co.uk: “We watched Kean throughout last season and he’s got a great pedigree with England and Manchester City.“It’s a fantastic deal for us, Kean is naturally left-footed, he can play left centre-half, left-back and in midfield and he is a very good technical player we think we can develop.“He played over 30 games at Oldham which will have aided his development and it’s important that we’ve kept the squad balanced with permanent signings and loans.”last_img read more
